Hiigh school continued

I waited for….hmm I really didn’t know what that girls name was but I was sure I’d figure it out later. Besides that, I waited for her outside the classroom but the bell rang and I had to go in. I knew I wasn’t that late and people were still coming in so it struck me as strange when the whole class looked up at me like I was some foreign alien or something. I tried to ignore them and moved to one of the seats in the third row but their eyes still followed me; even the teacher seemed just as confused as they were.
The girl from the bus walked in a few minutes later and sat in the front row, but no one seemed to notice her. She might as well have been there the whole time. She turned to me and said sorry and that she had to go to the office.
The teacher started explaining how great our first year at high school would be and how much he expected from us. I pretty much tuned him out, replaying You lie by Circus Freaks in my head till I realized someone was talking to me.
“Hello?” the boy sitting to the right of me said. He was probably a good 3 inches taller than me. He had straight black hair across his forehead, tan skin like the other girls but a little bit darker. He had hazel eyes and was wearing a black t-shirt with something written on it that I couldn’t read from where I was, jeans and Nike shoes.
“Huh, oh, um, were you talking to me?” I asked pretty sure he was.
“Yeah,” he flashed a big smile. He leaned in a lowered his voice. “How’s it feel to be the odd one out?” he asked.
“About that maybe you could explain that a little better for me.” I said hopping he would elaborate on his statement.
“Hmm, it's kind of a long story and we get out in like a minute so I’ll explain then.” He turned back around and started drawing something in his notebook. I tried to finish that song in my head but I couldn’t manage to hear it anymore so I decided to listen to the rest of Mr. Pachelle’s introduction, which didn’t last much longer cause soon the bell rung. Everyone hustled out of the classroom to their next class which at least 2/3 of the people in Mr. Pachelle’s class had Mrs. White who was my next class. That was including the guy from the other class but not the other girl; she said she’d see me at lunch.
Either Mrs. White understood the absolute pain us students felt on the first day of school or was just awesomely cool because she told us to just have fun. She turned on the radio to a station that everyone actually liked and let us sit on the top of the desk and talk. I found that guy and we sat on some desk in the back.
“Ok so how am I the odd one out?” I asked while Miss Independent by Ne-Yo played on the radio. He seemed to think about the question like he had to figure out how to answer it. He seemed to come up with something that satisfied him.
“Corral High is a branch, the top branch of the other two schools, Corral Elementary and Corral Middle. Well all the kids here went to Corral Elementary moved on to Corral Middle and now Corral High. It’s a system. And when your in your in. You know what school you go to next year, you know who your class mates are going to be and you know who rides your bus. The system usually doesn’t have new people come into it, especially not in High school.” He explained.
“Has anyone ever gone to another school, other than Corral?” I asked.
“No not really and if they did it's because they moved to a new city or something. It makes thing simpler like this.”
“So that’s what that girl meant by ‘are you new’.”
“What girl?” he asked.
“Peppy brunet with really long hair.”
“Oh you’re talking about Bridget.”
“Well that fits. By the way I didn’t get your name.” I pushed a piece of my hair behind my ear.
“Just call me J.R.” He gave me a smile that showed he was holding back.
“And what does that stand for.” I said in one of my sweetest voices. It didn’t work.
“Oh don’t worry your pretty little head about that.” He said mimicking my tone. I rolled my eyes and laughed. He just smiled at me. “So may I ask the name of someone as lovely as yourself?” He didn’t drop his tone so I knew he was toying with me.
“Stop messing with me, but since you asked so nicely it's Angel.” He’s not the only one who can be sarcastic.
“Angel huh? So Angel, are you a good girl or are you a bad girl.” He started laughing, I laughed too.
“Stop,” I said smiling. “You are so mean.” At that point I had my feet crossed on top of the desk and Right Here by Brandy was playing. I looked around the room. Mrs. White was playing a game with 3 kids at the board, there was a group of boys near the window talking about whatever, and a group of girls by the door complimenting another girl’s hair. There was one girl in a corner of the room reading a book and another girl and a boy laughing about a joke the guy had told. And near the middle of the room there were 2 or 3 kids dancing to the song. I started sing the song and half dancing; which is probably not the best thing to do with no balance on top of a desk. I lost my balance for a second when the song was almost over which I took as my clue to stop.
J.R. turned his head to the side and looked at me like he was examining me. Then he gave up and just laughed. “You are so not like the other girls in this school.”
“That’s good to know.” I said. Then the bell rung and I jumped off the desk and grabbed my bag. “Cause you know, you never want to be like everyone else.” Then I walked out.
The next class that I had was like some advanced science or something like that. I don’t understand what my mom was thinking when she picked this stuff. In this class I was alone again and I don’t know if I liked it or not. Mr. Terence, the history teacher, seemed like one of those teachers who wants to make learning fun which I chose to accept as a good thing. He told us to partner with the person beside us and tell them something they don’t already know. This confirmed my theory that the teachers know all the kids are suppose to know each other. The activity was supposed to build trust because it’s a very important trait in the real word yadda, yadda, yadda. Besides the 10 minute speech on life and the real world the girl sitting next to me was probably the stereotype look of a Goth. She had straight shoulder length black hair that got shorter the farther it went behind her hair on both sides. She had black eyeliner and black lipstick which oddly enough didn’t look super freaky. She was wearing a dark purple shirt with a black undershirt that came out at the bottom and a puffy black and skirt with purple lace under it. Also she had on black combat boots, arm warmers, black nail polish and skull earrings. Despite the complete overuse of the color black the outfit was pretty cute.
“Ok, go ahead. I wanna finish this up quick. I have other stuff to do.” She said sounding bored and uninterested which didn’t offend me at all because I know I would feel the same way if I were her.
“Wow, you’re the first non-super happy person I’ve met here today. It’s I nice change of pace.” I said probably sounding sarcastic but being completely honest. She laughed at this which did seem strange.
“You must of met Bridget too early.” She replied.
“You know Bridget?” I asked.
“Of course, I know everyone but I especially know Bridget. She’s my best friend.” She said as if I was supposed to know this. Mr. Terence walked up behind my partner and put his hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him curious to who it was and what he wanted I guessed.
“You’re getting to know our new student, aren’t you Teri?”
“Yes Mr. T.” she said. She must have gotten asked questions like that a lot.
“Well good.” He patted her on the shoulder and walked away.
“Your names Teri?” I asked.
“Yeah, but my friends call me Kitty. Cause a couple years ago I had a friend named Sabrina and since I followed her around they called me the black cat.”
“Hmm, I’m Angel by the way.”
“Nice name, but I'm telling you know it took me 2 years to remember Bridget’s name so I’m going to call you New Girl.”
“Fine with me.” I said not actually caring what anyone called me unless it was an insult.
“So I’m guessing a lot of people have been saying hi to you or greeting you like it was there job or something.”
“How’d you know? I thought for a while that I was wearing a sign or something that said Say hi if you think I'm lonely.” I said. She laughed again.
“Well people here have known each other for ever so seeing a new kid is like giving a person who’s on a diet chocolate. They haven’t seen it in a long time and once they do they jump for it.” I laughed.
“So do you know J.R.?” I asked not looking directly at her just in case she could sense why I was asking.
“Yeah he’s another one of my best friends. J.R., Bridget, Toni, Cameron and Jason. They’re my best friends since kindergarten.”
“Do you know what J.R. stands for?” I asked.
“Nope. He said it wasn’t that important and that he’d tell us sooner or later. We tried everything to find out; looking it up, his record, asking the teachers and his parents but all we got was the same answer. His name is J.R. It's been legally changed and everything.”
“Wow, and he’s never even hinted on what it was?”
“Nope.” At that moment she was taking out a black notebook with silver stars and skulls drawn on the cover.
“You are like the 7th person I have seen with a notebook. Why are you carrying them around?”
“I'm not surprised. Everyone has one. In,” she started counting on her fingers. “3rd grade they told us to design a folder all our own. We got to pick whatever color we wanted, add design’s, pictures and sparkles for those people who are into that.” She pushed some of her hair behind her ear and started to write something in her notebook.
“The cover and the pages of the notebook tells a lot about the writer.” She said not looking up from her work. “They told us we could use it for whatever we wanted. Journal, drawings, random junk, etcetera.” She looked up. “You should check out J.R.’s and Bridget’s some time. They carry them around all the time.” Then she went back.
“So what do you use yours for?” I asked.
“Poetry. You should make one.” She waved over Mr. Terence. “Hey do you have any extra notebook,” she showed him hers then gestured to me. “Angel here didn’t make one.”
Mr. Terence went in one of the closets and brought out 12 notebooks of various colors holding them out to me. I chose the purple one because it's my favorite color and I knew I could do so much with it. I could already picture the design I was going to put on the cover. “Thanks.” I said.
“So what are you going to use yours for?” she asked, satisfied with her work.
“I don’t know yet.” I shoved the notebook in my messenger bag and made a mental note to work on it when I got home. The bell rung and a few kids stayed in the class while the rest of us left.
“Why are they staying in the classroom?” I asked Teri as we were leaving the room.
“Mr. T lets people eat in his classroom, but usually they don’t eat and just use the computer and stuff.”
Bridget popped out of know where and walked between me and Teri on our way to the cafeteria. “Hi Hi,” she said her ponytails bouncing up in down in her steps.
“Hey Bridge.” Teri said. Seeing them standing beside each other, it was amazing that they were friends. I guess opposites do attract.
“J.R said he was going to meet us in the caf after he talked to Ms. Laveka. I’m not sure but I think he said she’s really really hot.” She pronounced the words carefully like she wanted to get it exactly right. Teri started laughing.
“J.R. hasn’t changed one bit since I’ve met him. So was she smokin’ hot or super hot.”
“Just really really hot.”
“So I’m guessing she’s a blonde, probably just got out of college or isn’t more than 30, and wears way too bright clothes that I'm sure aren’t long enough.”
“You’ve seen her?” Bridget asked baffled. Teri pointed her finger forward at a person who matched her description to the dot.
“Lucky guess,” We were now in the cafeteria, which until know I hadn’t seen before. It was huge. The roof was maybe 50 feet high and had a sun roof in the middle with a round table underneath. There were round tables, square tables, booths on the sides and group tables on the back wall. We grabbed our lunch, took one of the circular tables near the middle. J.R came a couple minutes later and sat with us.
“So Kitty you met Angel?” he said biting into his burger.
“Yuck, don’t speak with your mouth open. I met her in history where’d you meet her?”
“Math.” He said taking another bite out of his burger. “What about you Princess.” Bridget was brushing her hair out and had about 5 guys staring at her.
“She rides my bus.” She said flipping her hair. She put her hair back into ponytails and took a bite of her salads. For a second I thought that they didn’t notice that I was there. I started to look around the room. There was a group of guy at one of the square tables talking about Bridget who, I have to admit, is kind of light headed and didn’t notice. Well she was pretty and those guys were so cute. On the booths were a few couples that looked like they were on a date and 5 super blonds that looked like Bridget would fit in perfectly with even though she was a brunet and wasn’t white, but still the hair flipping outshined that.

High School Sucks!!!!

Ok so My names Angel, Angel Ludagraughs and today was my first day of high school at Corral Mount High. I mean i'm freshman!!!! And i put the explanation points there as a form of complete shock and terror not the usually excitement.
So this morning I put on my red miny dress with the skinny jeans and black boots considering the occasion. I grabbed my book bag and about 20 dollars off the counter for lunch and any other things i needed and ran out the door yelling bye to my mom. The bus stop was less than 40 feet away and from where i was i could already see 2 other kids there. They were twins, I guessed, a girl and a boy, sophmores, 5,8 or 5,9. The girl's hair went a little bit shorter than her elbow and was black. Her brothers was like most black guys, short and black. They were arguing over something but i couldn hear what. I tried to slow my speed to get to the stop but considering it was like 20 seconds away from where I was it wasn't going to help. So anyway i got to the stop and took out my phone to look busy but it didn't work.
"Hi," The girl said stopping her argument. "I'm Tisha and this is my loser of a brother Tony."
"Hi," The boy said outreaching his hand past her. I shook it.
"Hi, Angel."
"Wow, pretty name." Tisha said.
"Thanks, so you guys are twins?" I asked.
"Yeah," Tony said setting his bag on the ground. Tisha did the same "We've been twins for 15 years now. How old are you?"
"14," I could hear the bus rolling around the corner now so I grabbed my bag Tisha and Tony following.
"So do you know anybody at good old Corral Mount?" he asked looking out for the bus.
"Not that I know of. I just moved here a month ago so I havent really met anyone." I replied as the bus pulled up on the corner. We all got on and I found an empty seat in the middle. Of the bus and took out my IPOD but before I could turn it on or better yet put the headphones in my ear the girl sitting in the seat infront of me turned around and looked over the seat at me. She had tan skin, dark brown hair that looked like it went to her waist in 2 long pony tails down her back. She out streched her hand.
"Hey," She said in a bouncy way to happy voice. "areyou new?" she asked. I didn't understand the question considering i was a freshman and she was clearlu a freshman so there was really know way for either of us to be old. she seemed to notice my confusionand added "To the area?"
"Oh," I said fumbling with my tangled headphones "Yeah, I just moved here a month ago." She seemed to be waiting for more but realized thats all I had to say and gave up on that subject.
"So whats your name? you look like a jasmine or a Toni."
This make me laugh. "Angel." I said.
"Hmm i was thinking more of the lines of merissa or nicole but that's a pretty name too." her tone somehow stay upbeat. The bus driver sold her to sit down but she managed to get one more question out. "Do you have Mr. Pachelle first?"
"Yeah."
"Wait for me." After that she sat back in her seat and I turned my IPOD on full blast.

About half an hour later we got to the campus and everyone haled off. I never liked the first day at a new school so I wasn't expecting much from this one. I waited for....hmm I didn't even know what that girl's name was
